IPC §50

BNS does not carry an equivalent self-referential definition of section. The term is used throughout BNS in its standard, undefined sense — consistent with modern statutory drafting conventions where structural terms are presumed understood without explicit definition.

IPC Section 50 was a self-referential drafting-meta definition: it explained, within the IPC itself, that section meant a numbered portion of a Chapter. BNS does not carry an equivalent self-referential definition. The term section is used throughout BNS in its standard, undefined sense. This is editorial non-carry-forward consistent with modern statutory drafting conventions, where basic structural terms like section are presumed understood without statutory definition. No relocation: nothing is moved elsewhere. No externalisation: the meaning is not sourced from another statute (unlike the IPC 29A → IT Act pattern). No structural absorption into a BNS cluster (so consolidation_context does not fire). The IPC 50 self-definition is simply omitted.
